Mercedes uses an alternating schedule rather than a mileage checklist, and the two visits are genuinely different jobs. Here's what lands in each one, what sits outside the schedule entirely, and where the money should go on a car you plan to keep.
Mercedes alternates. Service A comes at 10,000 miles or one year, Service B at 20,000 miles or two years, and the car flips between them every 10,000 miles from then on.
ASSYST PLUS does the counting, and it counts driving conditions along with odometer miles. Cold starts around Crabapple and stop-and-go on Ga 400 pull the reminder in early, sometimes by 2,000 miles, which surprises owners who expected a round number.

Nothing exotic. Full-synthetic oil and filter to Mercedes spec, every fluid level checked and corrected, tire pressure and tread condition, a brake component inspection, and a reset of the service counter.
It isn't glamorous, and it isn't optional. The M264 and M256 engines are hard on oil, and a car that goes 15,000 miles between changes because nobody watched the reminder will tell you about it later through the timing chain.
Service B is Service A plus a full brake fluid exchange and a new cabin combination filter. Those two are why the invoice is bigger.
Brake fluid absorbs water. In Georgia humidity, it does that faster, and moisture in the lines drops the boiling point until a hard stop down Birmingham Highway hands you a soft pedal you weren't expecting. Two years is the interval. We hold to it.
The cabin filter is the one owners notice. Pollen season in North Fulton clogs it by April, and a restricted filter makes the blower work harder while the A/C feels weaker than it really is.

Spark plugs, transmission fluid, air filter, and coolant sit outside the A/B schedule, and those are the services that separate a Mercedes still running well at 150,000 miles from one that isn't.
